Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled

Theatre Club of HSBC employees has been supporting Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled (BEDD) since 2007 with several different projects and mediated over 250 wheelchairs.

The Turkish Foundation for Children in Need of Protection

The Turkish Foundation for Children in Need of Protection was founded by a group of volunteers in 1979 in order to establish and preserve children villages. The main objective of the association is to raise the needy children; “Koruncuks” as they prefer to call them, to be healthy citizens that have the chance to improve their personal abilities, have a proper education and a bright future ahead of them. Bolluca Children Village and Youth Homes is operated in collaboration with Social Services and Child Protection Agency (SHÇEK) according to the protocol. HSBC supports “Koruncuks” as a part of globally operated “Future First” social responsibility project. In 2007, HSBC Group allocated a fund to set up an English Language Learning Laboratory in Children Village. HSBC supports “Koruncuks” with Partner Schools project and also plans to initiate Brother/Sister programs with HSBC employees to support “Koruncuks” social and personal developments.

Dreams Academy

HSBC Financial Planning Team leads a pilot project initiated in HSBC Group and provides financial consultancy to Dreams Academy. As a core business activity, HSBC Financial Planning Team provides annual planning and reportage support and help Dreams Academy to create a transparent, accountable and sustainable system.

Microfinance Social Involvement Project

HSBC is committed to be the leader of microfinance in Turkey. For that purpose, collaborations with TİSVA (Turkish Foundation for Waste Reduction), TOG (Community Volunteers Foundation) and KEDV (Foundation for the Support of Women’s Work) began in the provinces of Ankara, Samsun and Istanbul and a total of 5 million USD to be invented in this social responsibility in 5 years. The women living in poor districts of mega-cities and rural areas benefits from microfinance via non-profit NGOs. HSBC aims to end the poverty and support the society with sustainable progress with microfinance project. In 3 years, over 2 million TL of microcredit usage provided in 40 cities with the collaboration with TİSVA.

“Microfinance, Support for the Society Conference” was held with the host of HSBC Bank in Istanbul and Nobel winning, “Banker of the Poor” Prof. Muhammad Yunus gave a speech about social entrepreneurship.
